Anna Soffici, an art historian, has long worked as a museum educator in Florentine State Museums. She joined the Ministry of Culture as an art historian official, since 2018 she has been working in the Education Department of the Uffizi Galleries coordinating the Cultural Mediation and Accessibility Area and is in charge of the Educational Services of the Directorate of the State Museums of Tuscany. She is also curator of the San Marco Museum and the Florentine cenacles. Her research interests, which initially focused on the history of applied arts and the historiography and art criticism of the 17th century, have more recently focused on the history and art of San Marco monastery complex in Florence, with a special attention to the reconstruction of historical settings and to the foreign visitors experience between 19th and 20th centuries. As an educational services manager, her research moves from heritage education to extend, from an interdisciplinary perspective, to material culture, Sensory Studies, and social pedagogy.
