Vice-president of the Italian Committee of ICOM (international Council of Museums) since November 2022, after having been its -president in the three-year period 2019-22, she represents the association in the Ministerial Commission for the activation of the National Museum System.
Graduated in 1971in Political Scienceat the Federico II University of Naples with a thesis in modern history, she was head of the Research and Publications sectorat the MiBACT Study Officefrom 1982 to 2014, chief editor of the Ministry’s “Notiziario” (1985-2011)and the pamphlet “Minicifers of Culture” (2009-2014). Also::
– has promoted ecurated studies and surveys on the protection and management of cultural heritage, the professions, and the quality of services, with particular reference to museumsand has published, as editor and/or co-author, numerous volumes including: Cultural Heritage and the European Market. Export Standards in Community Countries, Rome 1990; Management and Enhancement of Cultural Heritage in Regional Legislation, Rome 1998; Evaluation Tools for Italian Museums. – Has served on ministerial working groups and commissionsincluding: Dalai Emiliani Commission for Museum and Territorial Education (1996); working groups Scope IV-Personnel and VII-Services for the Public for the elaboration of the Guideline Act on Technical-Scientific Criteria and Standards for Museums(DM 10.5.2001); Casini Commission for the implementation of the National Museum System (2015-2017)
designed and organized training courses for directors and officials of state museums.
