From November 13 to 15, 2024, RO.ME – Museum Exhibition returns to the heart of the capital in the charming Trastevere district at the WeGil cultural space.
The overall theme of the 2024 edition of RO.ME – Museum Exhibition will be: Threads of knowledge.
Museums are complex organizations articulated in networks that constitute vehicles for the transmission of knowledge, objects and ideas, and are themselves parts of a web that forms the fabric of the society in which we live.
Increasingly, museums are working to expand these networks and go beyond traditional platforms, setting up collections in new and unconventional places, establishing innovative partnerships, and trying to reach wider audiences. At the same time, museums are more likely to welcome expertise and use outside knowledge, and to adopt nontraditional models of intervention. Such a strategy is not perceived as a threat to one’s authority; rather, it is seen as a challenge to share in the search for innovative solutions.
In the seventh edition of RO.ME – Museum Exhibition, we intend to delve into the networks that radiate, converge and feed museums, contributing to the creation of new forms of knowledge, both in the field and outside it.
