ITALY’S ROLE IN THE WORLD.
Culture is an essential element of Italian identity in the world and represents a tangible and intangible heritage that can be drawn upon to meet the challenges of contemporaneity. Culture has increasingly become soft power, a real component of foreign policy, a driver for the country’s international promotion.
The Network of Italian Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation represents an extraordinary observatory on cultural heritage enhancement policies promoted by Cultural Institutions and Companies abroad. In the Anglo-Saxon sphere, the V&A constitutes one of the most active players in international programs working on a global scale through research, lending, strategic partnerships, traveling exhibitions, professional training and consulting with the aim of making its world-class collection available to all, to support the creative industry, stimulate imagination and inspire the next generation.
