Session I – The role of museums in the age of sustainability
The fight against climate change is among the greatest challenges of the current century, and there is an increasingly urgent need to devise a new paradigm that will lead to profound cultural, social and economic change.
As central players in educational action, museums and cultural entities can raise awareness and contribute in bringing attention to the issue of sustainability and be an active part of this change, including making responsible management choices.
Sustainable ecosystems are among the central reflections of this year’s event; Michela Rota, an architect specializing and author on the topic of museums and sustainability, will introduce this urgent and significant topic with her keynote speech.
The panel is an opportunity to reflect on networking strategies, useful tools for cultural institutions and future prospects.
The conference will feature participation and video contributions from national and international experts in the field who will discuss current studies and projects for sustainable development in the museum field as well.
