STAND A01

For over 50 years, the publishing house Vision has been operating in the field of archaeological publishing, focusing particularly on the reconstruction of the most important archaeological sites in Italy and the Mediterranean. The reconstructions, overseen by renowned archaeologists and accompanied by texts of high scientific dissemination, are executed on transparent sheets so that they overlay on the photographic image of the monuments in their current state, integrating the missing elements. Temples for worship, buildings for public and private life, forums, basilicas, baths, theaters, dwellings, streets, all bear witness to vanished civilizations, and often only their ruins covered in grass remain.

This system, coined the “Vision method” and patented in 1959, is the only one that allows readers and visitors to archaeological sites a simple, clear, and particularly evocative view of ancient monuments as they were before their partial or total destruction: an immediate and direct comparison between Past and Present.

Within Vision, RS Life360 was born in June 2018 as an Innovative Startup, primarily focused on industrial design projects aimed at the enhancement and preservation of Cultural Heritage. It holds an international patent for the anamorphic reproduction of panoramic images that can be applied as a method to any object or installation.

The underlying idea of the patent was to reintroduce an ancient artistic technique, anamorphism, using modern tools of photography and digital post-production. The term “anamorphosis” refers to a drawing in which a distorted image appears, but when viewed obliquely or reflected in a curved mirror, it can be seen in its natural perspective.

Since November 2018, RS Life360 has been conducting market tests in the main museum bookshops of Rome, showcasing the first design product derived from the patent, the “Caffè Con Vista” collection: coffee sets consisting of cups and saucers featuring different panoramas of monuments and squares in Rome, Venice, and Florence. Thanks to its commercial potential and innovative impact in the cultural sector, RS Life360 received financial support from INVITALIA under the “Cultura Crea” funds for the project called “PORTA del SUD,” focused on the research and development of postcards, cups, and books for high-impact tourist destinations in Southern Italy: Naples, Pompeii, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, Paestum, Sicily, and others.
Since 2022, Rs Life & Vision actively participates in the dissemination of the Artficial project. Artficial is a technological startup aimed at enhancing artistic and cultural heritage with products and services for the digitization, distribution, archiving of sculptural artworks, and the production of Clones using 3D printing technologies.
