Piero Cimbolli Spagnesi

An architect, Ph.D. in History and Restoration of Architecture, he is Full Professor of History of Contemporary Architecture and Tools and Methods for Historical Research in the Faculty of Architecture at Sapienza – University of Rome, where he belongs to the Department of History, Design and Restoration of Architecture and is Director of the Joint Technical Research Unit on Intelligence, Defense and Recovery in Architecture and Coordinator of the PhD Program in History, Design and Restoration of Architecture. A member of the Governing Council of the National Center for the Study of the History of Architecture, he is Scientific Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Navy, a member of the Advisory Board of the relevant Historical Bureau, a member of the Scientific Board of the Maritime Review, and Scientific Director of the Archival Bulletin of the Navy Historical Bureau. He has done multi-year research for the Navy itself, for the Italian Army Corps of Engineers Command and its General Staff Historical Office, and for the Department of Fire, Public Rescue and Civil Defense of the Ministry of the Interior. He has been a knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic since 2014.
