Matteo Tresso (Turin, Italy, 1984) is the owner and Commercial Director of Artefatto, founded in 1995 by his father Pierfranco Tresso and Pierre Marie Göel.
Graduated in DAMS, with a specialization in Communication and Multimedia, he combines a solid artistic education with a strong entrepreneurial vocation.
After organizing cultural and musical events in Italy between 2008 and 2015, he joined Artefatto in 2016.
Initially he founded and directed the Communication and Marketing Office, coordinating the promotion of museum concession stores (Egyptian Museum, Civic Museums of Verona) and developing the “Artefatto Arkè” catalog, now distributed in more than 250 European and international Museumstores. In 2017 he creates the “Ad Hoc” office, dedicated to customized products, today among the company’s main business units.From 2018 he is project leader in the consulting contract with Lavazza S.p.A., for the creation and development of the Lavazza Museum store at Nuvola, later entrusted to Artefatto management followingthe agreement with Director Marco Amato. In the same period, he signs agreements with the Opera della Primaziale Pisana for the official merchandising of the Museum of the Duomo of Pisa and with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomoin Milan for the study of the official merchandising lines.In 2019, he signs the official consulting and supply agreement with the Fondazione Ferrovie dello Stato, overseeing the restyling of the Museumstore of the Pietrarsa Museum (NA) and the launch of the official e-commerce “FS Shop.” This hybrid model of consulting and supply then becomes a reference for Artefatto’s collaborations with Campari, Alfa Romeo, Sparco and the Vatican Museums.
To support the company’s growth, he opened new offices dedicated to scouting, product design & development and production control, taking over as Artefatto’s commercial director at the end of the year.
In 2020, during the pandemic, he developed together with the corporate IT department the B2B and B2C portal, and set up with Capitale Cultura the “Square” project, a phygital experience dedicated to cultural tourism, later launched in
its first edition in Turin.
In 2021 he becomes Artefatto manager for the Museumstore concession at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Turin, establishing a partnership with director Mariella Mengozzi and signing
licensing agreements with Sparco and Drive Experience. In the same year, he concludes the agreement with the Vatican Museums, positioning Artefatto as the main supplier and consultant and leading the creation of the newofficial MV-branded collections.From 2022 he leads Artefatto in international consolidation, leading it to become one of the main players in European trade fairs (Museum Connections Paris, Ro.Me) and signing the first distribution agreement of the Arkè catalog in France. He also coordinates the team for the creation of the official merchandising of Gallerie d’Italia on the occasion of the opening of the new headquarters in Turin.The year 2023 marks the full transformation of Artefatto into a structured and independent brand, with the opening of the HR, Quality & Compliance offices, the strengthening of logistics and the move to the new 1,200 m2 headquarters in Turin. In the same year, in collaboration with the management of the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, he develops the official collection of the exhibition “The World of Tim Burton” by taking care of relations with Tim Burton Production (USA).In 2024, he signs a consulting agreement with Pastiglie Leone within the project “La Fabbrica della Felicità,” an experiential business museum to open in 2026 in Collegno (TO), taking care ofshop design, branding and official product collections.Between 2024 and 2025, he develops the new Licensing business unit, signing agreements for exclusive licenses of Geronimo Stilton and M.C. Escher. In collaboration with MCE Holding, he leads the rebranding of the artist and the design of the new official B2B and B2C web platform.
Finally, he coordinates the Ad Hoc team in the production of the official lines for two of the major 2025 exhibitions in Italy: “M.C. Escher, Between Art and Science” at MUDEC in Milan and “Treasures of the Pharaohs” at the Scuderie del
Quirinale in Rome, taking care of the exclusive supply agreements with 24Ore Cultura and Società Editrice Allemandi.
