Katia Buratti

Diocesan Museum of Jesi - AMEI Directorate.

Graduated in Science of Cultural Heritage with a focus on “Historical-artistic and musical heritage” from the University of Bologna – Faculty of Conservation of Cultural Heritage (Ravenna branch), she has been conservator of the Diocesan Museum of Jesi since 2008. There it performs functions of protection, enhancement, and maintenance of heritage through the planning of restorations, the organization of events and educational activities, and the care of communication
She is in charge of Cultural Assets for the Diocese of Jesi and responsible for the CEI-OA (computerized inventorying of historical and artistic assets) and CEI-A (census of architectural assets) projects, both services promoted and coordinated by the National Office for Ecclesiastical Cultural Assets and Buildings of Worship of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (BCE).
Following the earthquake that struck the Marche region in 2016, he coordinated the activities for the verification and securing of buildings of worship, preparing for the Diocese of Jesi and Fabriano the start of the procedures inherent in Ordinances 23 and 32 of the Government’s Extraordinary Commissioner for Reconstruction, which are still ongoing.
He is treasurer AMEI (Association of Italian Ecclesiastical Museums) and a member of Icom Marche Coordination.
She is coauthor of the book for the Teaching of the Catholic Religion in Secondary School (An Encounter for Life 99 Lessons, Edizioni Il Capitello and Elledici di Torino, 2012), for which she compiled the art pages and teacher’s guide.
He conducted research in the field of the phenomenon of missions to the people in the 18th century, with a study on Bartolomeo Maria dal Monte, a missionary from Bologna in the 18th century, published in the proceedings of the international study conference “Space and Places. Material Culture, Spirituality and Heritage between the Modern and Contemporary Ages” aimed at Bologna in May 2019.
A contribution of his on the plastic decoration of the churches of the mendicant orders in medieval Montefeltro can be found in the publication “I conventi degli ordini Mendicanti nel Montefeltro medievale” edited by Cristiano Cerioni and Tommaso di Carpegna Falconieri for Firenze University Press (2012).
