STAND A55 Centre of Excellence DTC Lazio is a non-profit association established in 2020, evolving from the Centre created in 2018 by regional universities and research institutes with the support of the Lazio Region and Italy’s Ministry of Universities and Research. Recognised among the strategic Research Infrastructures of the PNIR 2021–2027, it operates as a multidisciplinary hub for the integrated enhancement of cultural heritage. Above all, it is a large public–private network: over 300 researchers, more than 200 stakeholders, 200+ laboratories and 23 ordinary members work together to ensure interoperability across research, industry and public institutions. The infrastructure is organised into 3 HUBs (Digital Technologies; Diagnostics & Conservation; Sustainable Management) and 10 Thematic Networks that integrate technical–scientific and humanities expertise, enabling co-design and technology transfer in real contexts. The Centre coordinates research, development and innovation projects, activates co-funding schemes, and defines guidelines and standards for digitisation, AI for cataloguing and accessibility, 3D surveying and modelling, geodata and GIS, diagnostics and sustainable conservation, immersive experiences and interaction design. Between 2019 and 2021 it coordinated 35 RDI projects; since 2024 it has launched co-funding calls (grants up to €30,000, 49% co-funding) and AWARDs for master’s and doctoral theses on cultural technologies, sustainability and digital heritage. Training is a strategic pillar: master’s programmes, advanced courses, MOOCs, summer schools and training camps have involved hundreds of professionals; since 2018, over 500 scholarships have been awarded to young researchers and cultural operators. Internationally, the Centre participates in the PNRR (Extended Partnership CHANGES), Horizon Europe, LIFE and Erasmus+, promoting collaborations and a presence at trade fairs such as Denkmal Leipzig and in the run-up to EXPO Osaka 2025, in synergy with the Lazio Region. With a systemic and sustainable vision, the CdE DTC LAZIO connects knowledge, technologies and territories, generating social and economic impact and strengthening the cultural innovation value chain in Lazio region. |
