Alessio Re
Alessio Re is an expert in cultural heritage and economic development. After working with Walter Santagata and his research group I serve, as of 2018, as Secretary General of the Santagata Foundation. Since 2013, he has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Turin (courses in: UNESCO programs; Cultural project management; EU project planning; Cultural industries and global markets) and, since 2018, at the University of Pisa (Cultural management and tourism policies). He is also a consultant at ITC-ILO (2008-), a research associate at CNR-ICVBC (2015-), a member of Sc. Monviso Park Committee (2019-) of the International Institute of Territorial and Environmental Dynamics (2014-) and board member of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Turin (2017-19). He coordinates the Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage Protection in Crisis Response and the International Academy on UNESCO and Sustainable Development, and participates in the coordinating council of the Master’s Degree in World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development, the Master’s Degree in World Natural Heritage Management, the annual Urbanization and Cultural Landscape workshop, and Mab UNESCO’s Monviso Youth Camp. He has worked as a consultant for UNESCO in: Italy (Pompeii, 2012); Serbia (Stari Ras and Sopocani, 2013; Post-Disaster Needs Assessment, 2014; Capacity Building Programs, 2010); Montenegro (2012); Iran (2015); Greece (2016); Cambodia (2018); Pakistan (2019) and I curated the exhibition “Behind Food Sustainability” (EXPO 2015). He coordinated the management plan for the Monviso Reserve (2015), the Port Louis Local Economic Development Plan (Mauritius, 2016), and worked on the management plans for the UNESCO sites of Naples, Alberobello, Langhe and Monferrato, and Genoa. He supervised the H.I.A. in Kotor (2017) and was a consultant to the Ministries of Culture and Tourism of Serbia (2014); Seychelles (2016); Mauritius (2016) with other professional experiences in Azerbaijan, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France. He edited the volumes “Evaluation of UNESCO Site Management” (2012) and “UNESCO Clusters” (2016).
