MUSEUMS IN THE CLIMATE CRISIS: ISSUES AND BEST PRACTICES
Session II – Decarbonization in Culture.

Workshop in collaboration with Santagata Foundation for the Economy of Culture and Focus Team Art and Cultural Heritage, BonelliErede

The workshop organized by Fondazione Santagata per l’Economia della Cultura, in collaboration with BonelliErede’s Art and Cultural Heritage Focus Team, aims to decline in the field of culture the challenges posed by climate change, placing itself in the context of the goals i indicated by the United Nations through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Net Zero 2050 Coalition.
The workshop aims to provide museums, art galleries, festivals and cultural institutions with a space for exchange and discussion on the topic of decarbonization of cultural places and activities.
Workshop participants are asked to share good practices and virtuous examples of actions taken with a view to reducing the ecological footprint in the cultural sector and to identify and discuss specific solutions to be adopted with a view to accelerating the necessary transition to a carbon neutral economy and an environmentally and socially sustainable community.
Fondazione Santagata, through its Sustainability and Tourism Area, is committed to the issue, supporting cultural entities and institutions, as well as UNESCO Designated Sites and destinations, Italian and international, in the strategic panification of their activities. He recently organized the “Decarbonising Culture &Society for Sustainable Development” forum in Turin.
BonelliErede’s Art and Cultural Heritage Focus Team has long been active on issues of environmental sustainability as they relate to art, with in-depth looks at museums and climate change.
