DIGITAL IMMERSION: AN INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS? A FRENCH EXAMPLE
in collaboration with Museum Connections – Paris
In recent years, the emergence of immersive digital exhibitions has fostered the creation of new forms of expression at the intersection of art, entertainment and technology. By appealing to stronger alliances between the public and private sectors, digitization of exhibitions can help facilitate the dissemination and cultural development of museum institutions. Based on the feedback from the economic development department of the Etablissement public des musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie (immersive exhibition project on the collections and building of the Gare d’Orsay with the Korean company D’strict), this talk will highlight the issues, challenges, and prospects for this type of project in France and internationally.
This conference is organized by Museum Connections – International Fair, focusing on the business and sustainable challenges of museums, cultural and tourist venues. Museum Connections highlights trends and innovations to envision tomorrow’s visitor experiences.
For more than 25 years, Museum Connections has brought together professionals in mediation, optimization and resource creation for museums and cultural venues for two days in Paris.
The next Museum Connections will be held on January 16 and 17, 2024 in Paris.
