DIGITAL HUMANITIES & CULTURAL INNOVATION

Session I – The digitization of tangible and intangible cultural heritage

Digitization of heritage in recent years has experienced great growth not only because of significant development of technological media but mainly due to a cultural approach focused on accessibility and the increasingly free enjoyment of cultural heritage.

Access to heritage has not only cognitive but also aggregative value, and is a central element in the affirmation and development of a sense of community, understood no longer in a strictly territorial key but in a broad sense as a cultural community.

The Director General of the Institute for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage-Digital Library will introduce the topic with a keynote speech in which, starting with the National Plan for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage (NDP) envisaged by the Culture 4.0 NRP, he will present the ongoing developments and the goals to be pursued.

The conference is a time for authoritative representatives of the sector to discuss the value, innovations and new ways of enjoyment possible through the digitization of different forms of cultural heritage from their experiences.
