CULTURAL HERITAGE AND SUSTAINABILITY: EXPERIENCES FROM THE SANTAGATA FOUNDATION 4C PROJECT

In collaboration with Fondazione Santagata per l’Economia della Cultura  – Foundation in official relations with UNESCO

The urgency for a green transformation of daily activities has begun to be perceived as urgent for the cultural sector as well. Museums and cultural institutions are also assigned the task of being promoters of sustainable practices and spreading awareness and knowledge to the publics regarding these issues. Fondazione Santagata per l’Economia della Cultura has therefore decided to launch the research project 4C – deCarbonization in the Cultural and Creative Field, with the aim of studying and guiding the necessary transition of Italy’s cultural and creative industries towards carbon neutrality. Here it intends to present the first results of the research, as well as create an opportunity for discussion and debate among those working in the field and beyond. The roundtable aims to outline the state of play of the green transition, bringing out good practices, critical issues and future challenges of such a process, so that aims, intents and approaches can be shared and participated in.
