AIPAI PHOTO CONTEST 2024: ALL THE AWARDEES OF THE III EDITION

During the seventh edition of RO.ME Museum Exhibition, the winners of AIPAI PHOTO CONTEST 2024, the photo contest organized by the Italian Association for Industrial Archaeological Heritage ETS/TICCIH Italy, International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage in collaboration with: DICEA – Sapienza University of Rome, Ministry of Culture – UNESCO Office, Appia Antica Archaeological Park, Appia Antica Regional Park, Do.co.mo.mo Italia, AEM Foundation (Milan), ISEC Foundation (Sesto San Giovanni), MAIRE Foundation – ETS (Rome), musil Foundation (Brescia), Photography Network.

The first prize was awarded to the photographic project Geometries of Aridity: interrupted visions by Erica La Placa.

To young Giovanni Peyrone, author of The Return of Light dedicated to the former Gazometro industrial hub in Rome, the Young Talent Patrons Award, supported again this year by the MAIRE Foundation – ETS.

New for this third edition is the Modern and Industrial Appia Award, given to Diego Monfredini’s The Paper Factory on the Appian Way .

Honorable mentions were given to the works and photographic projects: Acciai Speciali Terni by Giuseppe Cardoni; Quando il lavoro filava by Paolo Invernizzi; Le Filande di Carpacco e Dignano by Milva Morocutti; Deep in the earth by Francesca Pompei; Machinae Oblitae by Lorenzo Rosa; Favignana- ex stabilimento Florio by Rosa Maria Villiani.

The special mention was awarded to Teresa Bianchi, Otman Essalhi, Alessandro Innocenti, Matilde Laschi, Veleia Liserani, Matteo Mercorelli, Neri Parivir and Giulio Pesci, students of class 3B of the secondary school, from Rignano sull’Arno, (Fi) coordinated by teacher Chiara Vignudini, for the project Memory of industry and work in the former Montecchi furnace in Troghi (Fi).

The careful selection of projects was made by the jury composed of: Laura Acampora, UNESCO Office Officer of the Ministry of Culture, Giampietro Agostini, photographer, Giorgio Bigatti, Director of ISEC Foundation, René Capovin, Director of musil – Museum of Industry and Labor of Brescia, Edoardo Currà, President of AIPAI, Francesca Rinaldo, Heritage Manager of MAIRE Foundation – ETS, Emma Tagliacollo, former Secretary General of Do.Co.Mo.Mo. Italy, Palmina Trabocchi, AIPAI PHOTO CONTEST Delegate, Fabrizio Trisoglio, AEM Foundation Scientific Manager, Photography Network President and Jury President.
