Sofia Cingolani Direzione Regionale Musei Marche-MIBACT
Sofia Cingolani works as archaeologist officer of the MIBACT at Regional Directorate Museums Marche since 2019. From February 2020 she is the Director of the State Archaeological Museum of Ascoli Piceno and of the State Archaeological Museum of Cingoli.
Archaeologist and PhD in Roman Africa, Maghreb and Cyrenaica Archeology at University of Macerata, she has to his credit numerous scientific works of an archaeological nature in Italian and International scientific journals. Since 2005 collaborates with University of Macerata on Italian and international projects and on archaeological missions in Italy, Greece, Albania. As part of this collaboration she has developed over the years several research topics are divided into several areas and levels of investigation: starting from the study of ceramics he deals with the processes of assimilation, integration and transformation at the base of the development of the communities of the two opposite sides of the Adriatic between the classical and the Roman age through the study of ceramic and glass products from the Adriatic (Picenum and Epirus), Mediterranean (Gortina di Creta) and northern Africa (Tripolitania) areas. Starting from the analysis of some case studies, she also deals with the role of places of worship within the training processes of Roman cities in the V and VI Adriatic regions , of the study of the Roman theatre of Pollentia-Urbs Salvia and of the Roman imperial statuary. Finally, she deals with the management and enhancement of museums and places of culture.
