Sahar Behairy

Sahar Behairy is a linguist, certified art economist and curator based between Cairo and Milan. Born in Port-said, Egypt in 1970, and travelling extensively since 1992, Behairy holds a Master’s Degree of Contemporary Art Markets from the prestigious Milan Nuova Accademia di Belle Art (NABA). Behairy is specialist of art economy, with a particular focus on the very particular African and Middle East ecosystems and art markets. For 26 years, she has worked in leading philanthropic projects on the fields of education, health, women empowerment and childcare in seven countries, where she successfully chaired and delivered over 20 fundraising events. In August 2021 she curated women exhibition “Freedom equals No Fear” with Eclectica contemporary art gallery in Cape Town, Mrs Behairy has team-worked logistically on several major projects including the solo show “OrnAmenTum’EtKriMen” of Artist Kendell Geers (South Africa) at M77 Gallery in Milan in 2020, the official country participation of Grenada “The Bridge”, curated by Omar Donia at the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017, as well as Khaled Hafez’s contribution In 56th Venice Biennale official Collateral exhibition “In The Eye of the Thunderstorm” curated by Martina Corgnati in 2015. In 2020 Sahar Behairy became one of the co-founders of the Egyptian-International Cairo Curatorial Collective (CCC), a body of curators who combine academia with practice in developing projects, and educating the art and science of curatorial practices. In December 2020 Sahar Behairy was appointed the deputy head of International Relation committee of the Adam Henein Foundation.
