Valentino Nizzo (Todi, 1975), ‘archeologist without frontiers’, completed his studies at the University “Sapienza” of Rome (Laurea, Specializzazione, PhD) and obtained the postdoc at the Italian Institute of Human Sciences in Florence (SUM). In 2010 he became an archaeologist official at the Ministry of Culture and, from 2017 to 2023, he was director of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, an institute with special autonomy. Since December 2023 he is associate professor of “Etruscology and Italian archaeology” at the University of Naples, l’Orientale where he also teaches “Archaeology and digital communication”. Qualified as a full professor of archeology in 2023, taught Museography at the University of Udine and at the School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage of the University of Bologna; since 2021 he teaches “Communication for Archaeological Heritage” at the School of Specialization in Archaeology of Sapienza and since 2024 Museology and communication of archaeological assets at the School of Specialization OR.SA. He has conducted and directed numerous excavations and archaeological surveys, curated national and international conferences and exhibitions and won several awards. It has over 250 publications including 4 monographs and 16 curatorships. He participated in numerous documentaries in collaboration with Rai Cultura, Rai Storia and Sky.
