Archaeologist, he was alumnus at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris (1984-1988) and “professeuragrégé” of History (1987), since 2005 he is Full Professor of Archeology at the École Pratique des Hautes Étude with a substantial scientific production focused on Mediterranean cultures and Europeans in the first millennium BC. He directs the Franco-Albanian archaeological mission of Apollonia of Illyria and, from 2020, the National Roman Museum.
