Marina Maria Serena Nuovo
Dr. Marina Maria Serena Nuovo is a professional archaeologist (I Fascia, D.M.244/2019). In 2005, she received an MA in Underwater Archaeology from the University of Lecce (now University of Salento) and, in 2008, an MA in Landscape Archaeology from the University of Foggia. In 2010, she obtained the diploma in Archaeology (diploma di Scuola di Specializzazione, Ancient Topography) from “Sapienza” University in Rome and, in 2014, a PhD in Ancient Topography from the same university. She worked as an archaeologist at numerous sites in Italy, England and Greece. Since 2006, she has been working as a Small Finds Archaeologist for the Amheida Project, directed by the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World/New York University, at the site of Trimithis (Amheida, Egypt). Since 2016, she has been interested in Museology studies; between 2017-2021 she worked as an official archaeologist for the Ministry of Culture, at the Direzione Regionale Musei Abruzzo. She became member of the Associazione Italiana Archaeologi (ANA) in 2020 and Segretario Regionale (Regional Secretary) for the Lazio Regional Branch in 2021.
