
Margherita Guccione
Architect, is director of the Museum of modern and contemporary architecture of MAXXI (MAXXI Architecture). Since 2000 she has been responsible for the design and construction of the MAXXI headquarters on behalf of the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities, based on a project by Zaha Hadid. In this role she started the collections of architecture by taking care of the acquisitions of the archives of some of the main architects of the twentieth century and of relevant drawings, models and installations of contemporary architects. Since 2010, the year of the opening of MAXXI, she has been in charge of the programming of exhibitions, scientific activities and events at the Museum of Architecture. She is the author of numerous writings and essays on 20th century and 21st century architecture and the relationship between contemporaneity and conservation.
