Marco Pierini graduatedand got his doctorate in Aesthetics from the Universityof Siena.  He was the director of the Museo Diocesano di Pienza since 1998 to 2007. Since 2002 to March 2010 he was the director of the Palazzo dellePapesseContemporary Art Center in Siena. Since June 2010 to December 2014he ran the Galleria Civicaof Modena. From October 1st 2015 he is the Director of the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia and of the Regional Direction of Museums of Umbria. From December 1st 2019 to November 2020 he was the Director (ad interim) of the National Gallery of Marche in Urbino. He has been Contemporary art history professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara. From 2015 he is Contemporary art history professor at The University of San Marino (RSM) and from 2019 he is Economics of Culture professor at the University of Perugia. He curated more than 50 museum exhibitions in many Italian towns, in Spain, France, Ireland, Switzlerland, Brasil, Russia. As an author he published many essays and books about Art, Aesthetics and Music.
