
Davide Quadrio
Davide Quadrio (b. 1970), an art historian and sinologist by training, is a curator and cultural producer based between China and Italy. Since 2022, he has been the Director of MAO Museum of Oriental Art in Turin, which he leads with a radical strategic vision, fostering international institutional, scientific and cultural collaborations.
In 1998, he founded BizArt Art Center, Shanghai’s first nonprofit laboratory, considered a historic site of the Asian art avant-garde, which he directed for more than a decade. In 2007 he created Arthub, a curatorial platform dedicated to the production and promotion of contemporary art with a global reach. From 2005 to 2008, he was artistic director of the Bund18 creative space in Shanghai, and from 2013 to 2016 curator for contemporary art at the Aurora Museum in Shanghai. In 2021, he was part of the curatorial team for the 13th Gwangju Biennale in Korea.
His creative scope also extends to academic positions, with a visiting professorship at the Department of Arts and Architecture at the Iuav University of Venice starting in 2020.
