Anne Marie Hoogerwerf Hospes
Anne-Marie J.M. Hoogerwerf Hospes is Head of Commercial Activities at the Natural History Museum of Denmark. Her role encompasses the overall visitor experience and the museum’s commercial operations, including ticketing, retail, events, and food and beverage. She is also responsible for planning the visitor spaces outside the exhibitions in the new museum building, which is one of the largest museum construction projects in recent Danish history. In 2027, the new building in Copenhagen’s Botanical Garden will open to the public, bringing together Denmark’s natural history in one place for the
first time.
Anne-Marie’s professional background spans both the cultural and private sectors, with experience in retail, food and beverage, ticketing, events, product development, sales, fundraising, marketing, and communications. She has held senior roles at ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art in Denmark and the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam/the Netherlands, and previously worked with McKinsey & Company and Cliord Chance.
Anne-Marie holds a Master’s degree in Art History, focusing on modern and
contemporary art, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Communications. She has also completed executive education at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, including the Oxford Senior Leadership Executive Programme. Her work combines
operational leadership with strategic planning to create sustainable growth for cultural institutions. She is passionate about developing a meaningful visitor experience and enjoys collaborating across disciplines to achieve this.
