Alessio Re
Secretary General, Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture.
Alessio Re is an Expert in cultural heritage and economic development. After having worked with Walter Santagata and his research group I serve, from 2018, as Secretary General of the Santagata Foundation. Since 2013 I teach as adjunct professor at the University of Turin (courses in: UNESCO programs; Management of cultural projects; EU-Project Planning; Cultural industries and global markets) and, from 2018, at the University of Pisa (Cultural Management and tourism policies). I am also consultant at ITC-ILO (2008-), associate researcher of the CNR-ICVBC (2015-), member of the Sc. Committee of the Monviso Park (2019-) of the International Institute on Territorial and Environmental Dynamics (2014-) and have been board member of the UNESCO Chair of the University of Turin (2017-19). I coordinate the Master in Cultural Property Protection in Crisis Response and the International Academy on UNESCO and Sustainable Development, and I participate to the coordination board of the Master in World Heritage and cultural projects for development, the Master in World Natural Heritage Management, the Urbanization and cultural landscape annual workshop, and the MaB UNESCO Monviso Youth Camp. I worked as consultant for UNESCO in: Italy (Pompeii, 2012); Serbia (Stari Ras and Sopocani, 2013; Post Disaster Needs Assessment, 2014; capacity building programs, 2010); Montenegro (2012); Iran (2015); Greece (2016); Cambodia (2018); Pakistan (2019) and I curated the exhibition “Behind Food Sustainability” (EXPO 2015). I coordinated the management plan of the Monviso Reserve (2015), the Port Louis Local Economic Development Plan (Mauritius, 2016) and worked on the management plans of the UNESCO sites of Naples, Alberobello, Langhe and Monferrato, Genoa. I supervised the H.I.A. of Kotor (2017)and has been consultant to the Ministries of Culture and Tourism of Serbia (2014); Seychelles (2016); Mauritius (2016) with other professional experience in Azerbaijan, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France. I edited the volumes “Evaluating the management of UNESCO sites” (2012) and “UNESCO Clusters” (2016).
