Professional Skills in Museum and Cultural Management

The transformation of museums and cultural institutions requires increasingly multifaceted professional skills—ones that integrate specialized knowledge, management abilities, innovation, and a focus on social, economic, and environmental challenges. Alongside the traditional functions of protecting, preserving, and promoting cultural heritage, new professional roles and organizational models are emerging that are redefining the role of museums and their relationship with the public and their local communities.

This theme will be explored in various sessions during the 9th edition of the RO.ME Museum Exhibition, with the aim of fostering reflection on the evolution of museum and cultural management skills through dialogue among institutions, professionals, universities, and organizations in the sector. The various sessions will explore tools, experiences, and perspectives aimed at strengthening the capacity of cultural institutions to navigate change and generate value for their communities.
