The fifth edition of RO.ME – Museum Exhibition has as its central theme the “Heritage ecosystems”. Museums and cultural sites are traversed globally by changes that the pandemic has only accelerated.  The museum’s vocation is increasingly understood not only as a commodity but as a public asset. The museum is asked to increase its educational role and cultural pollination aimed at an increasingly diverse audience.  

This change of paradigm requires the museum to conceive itself as an ecosystem: a dynamic archipelago of cultural, social and economic relations where it, together with other subjects, can fulfil new functions that, integrating the traditional ones, lead him to play a more active role in the lives of citizens, in the relationship with the territory and in dialogue with private individuals. 

 

RO.ME Museum Exhibition will be held from 16 to 18 November 2022 at the National Central Library of Rome.
