DIGITAL INNOVATION IN CHURCH MUSEUMS: RESOURCE OF THE LAND

Promoted by Confesercenti Roma, with the contribution of the Camera di Commercio di Roma and in collaboration with AMEI – Associazione dei Musei Ecclesiastici Italiani.
The conference explores the role of digital innovation as a lever for the enhancement and accessibility of ecclesiastical heritage and as a strategic resource for territorial development.
Through the presentation of experiences and projects implemented in several Italian diocesan museums-from Agrigento to Bari, from Genoa to Viterbo-the meeting highlights how digital technologies, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and multimedia storytelling are transforming the relationship between heritage, community and visitors.
New applications and digital tools not only expand knowledge and inclusion, breaking down physical, cognitive and sensory barriers, but also foster new forms of cultural participation, creating collaborative networks between dioceses, institutions and businesses.
Ecclesiastical museums are thus confirmed as places of innovation and presides of community, capable of combining identity, faith and contemporaneity, contributing to the cultural and social growth of the territories in which they operate.
