Designing and Revitalizing Cultural Spaces

The design of cultural spaces plays a central role in defining how cultural heritage is experienced and the quality of the visitor experience. Architecture, exhibits, and interpretive tools help forge a connection between places, content, and audiences, transforming cultural venues into spaces for learning, participation, and interaction.
In the various sessions that will explore this thematic strand during the 9th edition of the RO.ME Museum Exhibition, participants will discuss the central role of design in enhancing cultural heritage and the regeneration processes capable of restoring new functions and meanings to cultural sites, through a comparison of Italian and international experiences. From the interpretation of UNESCO sites to museum design and exhibitions, the program will delve into approaches and solutions that successfully combine the identity of these places with accessibility, innovation, and the quality of the cultural experience.
