The project is divided into 335 interventions on 283 archaeological and cultural sites; the interventions define an innovative process of enhancing the archaeological, touristic and cultural heritage of Rome and Lazio, using the opportunity offered by the PNRR to coincide with the Jubilee of 2025.
The implementation of the project is by several implementing entities, such as the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture-with the involvement of the various Superintendencies-, Colosseum Archaeological Park, Appia Antica Archaeological Park, Diocese of Rome, Lazio Region and Roma Capitale.
The goals are to create new tourist routes and to revive even those “minor” places or monuments that are often forgotten, significantly increase the number of usable tourist complexes, create alternative offerings to traditional routes even outside the historic center, and train qualified personnel to be brought into service.
