TURNING THE PAGE – IF MUSEUMS DEFY GLOBAL CRISES
The role of museums, centers of social fabric consolidation and lifelong learning, is changing. Museums face many challenges: war, pandemic exit, but also the environmental issue, multiculturalism, decolonization, cancel culture, aesthetic and at the same time technological experience.
Simone Verde, director of the Complesso Monumentale della Pilotta since 2017, and Paolo Conti, a journalist and columnist for Corriere della Sera who has always dealt with cultural heritage, are the authors of the recently published book Voltare pagina – Se i musei sfidano le crisi globali, published by Baldini & Castoldi.
The authors, through the presentation of their book, will offer stimulating insights into the role of museums in contemporary society as places, not only of exhibition but also of debate comparisons and public and aggregating events.
Speakers:
● Simone Verde, Director Monumental Complex of the Pilotta in Parma.
● Paolo Conti, Corriere della Sera
The presentation will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, from 3:30 to 4 p.m., at the Auditorium.
