THE PATHS BETWEEN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND CULTURAL PROMOTION

in collaboration with AEVF – European Association of Vie Francigene

The meeting will address the growing popularity of major pedestrian routes in Europe and Italy, where in 2023 it is estimated that more than 100,000 “modern pilgrims” will have chosen slow travel as a mode of territorial discovery. One of the main challenges for the future will be to integrate this passion for walking with the enhancement and enjoyment of cultural heritage along the routes. The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss strategies and initiatives to promote sustainable tourism that fosters the interaction between walkers and cultural heritage, strengthening the link between travel, culture and territory.
