Ramil Abbakirov is an experienced professional in the fields of international relations and cultural management.
He has work experience at such organizations as Airbus (Toulouse, France) and Azerfon (Baku, Azerbaijan). Starting from 2013 he was Advisor, then Senior Advisor at the International Department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is currently the Head of International Projects and Innovations Division of the Ministry of Culture.
Between 2016 and 2018 Mr. Abbakirov was the Resident Twinning Advisor’s Counterpart for the EU supported Twinning Project named “Support to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the modernization of its policy and management system in the culture sector”. This project was jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities of Italy. He has vast experience in the field of cooperation with such organizations as UNESCO, Council of Europe, European Union, British Council, ISESCO, etc.
Mr. Abbakirov was the member of organizing committees of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th World Forums on Intercultural Dialogues, 7th Global Forum of UNAOC, CoE Cultural Routes Advisory Forum, First Platform Exchange on Culture and Digitization of the CoE, Cultural Policy Exchange Workshop of the EU Eastern Partnership Culture Programme, the 8th UNESCO session of the Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage and 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
Mr. Abbakirov has BA in International Economic Relations and Management from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and MA in International Management from Toulouse Graduate School of Management.
