Federica Galloni has been General Director for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism since August 2019. She was appointed Superintendent for Architectural and Landscape Heritage for the Municipality of Rome in 2006. From 2010 to 2014 she was General Director of the Regional Directorate for Cultural and Landscape Heritage of Lazio. Federica Galloni was then summoned to lead the newly established Directorate General for Art, Contemporary Architecture and the Urban Suburbs. During this period, she was Commissioner of the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and President of the Italian Council Commission. As a consultant for culture and urban regeneration, she participated in the activities of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on the security conditions and the deterioration of the cities and their suburbs of the XVII Legislature. Federica Galloni is specialized in urban renewal and architectural restoration: in these fields, she carried out research and teaching activities for decades in Italian and foreign universities. She participated as a speaker at numerous conferences, and she contributed to many scientific publications and catalogs. She directs the Art Bulletin. Currently, Federica Galloni’s research topics include the protection and quality of the landscape, the preservation of the historical and artistic heritage and its relative circulation on a national and international level.
