Cristiana Perrella (Rome, 1965)

Curator and art critic, she is currently the Director of the Pecci center for contemporary arts, Prato, Italy. From 1998 to 2008, she directed the Contemporary Arts Programme at The British School at Rome.

From 2007 to 2009, she planned and initiated for RISO – Museo d’arte Contemporanea della Sicilia, the SACS-Sportello per l’Arte Contemporanea; an initiative that promotes the development of art by young artists for which for the first two years and from 2012-13, she was the curator.

From 2009 to 2017, she curated the artistic area at the Fondazione Golinelli di Bologna. In 2016, she was one of the curators for the 16th Quadriennale in Rome. As an independent curator she has collaborated with Italian and international institutions such as the Fondazione Prada and MAXXI, where she curated one of the museum’s inaugural exhibitions (2010) before going on to collaborate on three other exhibition projects. From 2004 to 2010, she taught “Phenomenology of contemporary art” at the University of Chieti and from 2013 to 2017 at the IED in Rome. She has published many texts and monographs; one of the most recent being dedicated to Francesco Vezzoli, published in February 2016 for Rizzoli International. From 2015, she has been a board member of AlbumArte’s scientific committee.
